For information on starting a new chapter, or for information on how a local poetry group can affiliate with the Poetry Society of Texas, or to find your local chapter, contact the Extension Committee which is concerned with organizing and sustaining the efforts of the local chapters of the Poetry Society of Texas. To this end, the President appoints Councilors, who operate under the direction of the Chairman of the Extension Committee. Councilors assist the local chapters in fostering an interest in poetry in their local areas, e.g., Programs for Poetry Day in Texas. When ten or more members ask for help in organizing a chapter, the Extension Chairman assigns one or more Councilors to help them.
